25 BABY ITEMS WE'VE LOVED THROUGHOUT OUR FIRST 3 WEEKS AS PARENTS

I can't believe our little man is almost one month old! Someone pump the breaks because I feel like time was crawling at a snail's pace as we waited for him to arrive...and now it is just zooming by! Kevin and I are finally starting to get into the swing things as first time parents and are quickly noticing the baby items we love. I wanted to share in hopes this helps other first time parents while navigating through the planning and nesting stages! Here are the 25 baby items we've loved throughout our first three weeks as parents:

*as always, all items are linked on my Amazon Storefront here.

  • Basic Onesies

    • These are a must and something we put Kaden in every night before bed. We love these Gerber basic white onesies and they're perfect underneath our favorite swaddles!

  • Thick Socks

    • Socks are quick to fall off babies ever moving feet, so we were super impressed with these Gerber socks since they are thick and tend to stay on way longer than other brands. They're also perfect to put over the Owlet Sock at night!

  • Mittens

    • Those baby nails are quick to scratch their precious face, so these mittens are a great way to keep their hands warm and protected.

  • Sleepers

    • I am a big fan of sleepers! We like to put these on him during the day to keep him warm in the house. I especially like the footed ones and it's a bonus if they have sleeves that fold over their hands to prevent them from scratching their face. Oh, and quick tip: don't buy sleepers with snaps. Always choose zippers! Snaps are a huge pain and so time consuming!

  • Swaddles

    • We quickly realized Kaden was not one to be contained in a muslin blanket swaddle. He constantly has his arms up and his hands by his face, so we opted for the Love to Dream Swaddle and Halo Sleep Sack. They allow him to keep his arms up, while simultaneous swaddling him comfortably. I am a HUGE fan! We occasionally use the SwaddleMe velcro swaddles, which are also great if your baby doesn't mind having their arms by their side.

  • Baby Laundry Detergent

    • Kaden developed a rash the first week at home so we switched our laundry detergent to this hypoallergenic Dreft detergent, recommended by my sister. We love it and it smells AMAZING!

  • Boppy and/or Boppy Lounger

    • The boppy has been great for breastfeeding and we'll continue to use it for tummy time and to help with sitting up on his own, once he reaches that age! I am also a huge fan of the lounger, as it sets him in it at an upright angle to help some of his recent tummy issues!

  • DockATot or SnuggleMe Organic

    • We personally have and love the DockATot, which is such a great product! He sleeps in it every night. The SnuggleMe Organic is also super popular (and a bit cheaper) and I've heard great things.

  • Play Gym

  • Swing

    • Kaden loves his swing! It's such a great option to soothe him to sleep or calm him during an upset tummy.

  • Blankets

    • My favorite blankets are Saranoni, however I also love this jersey cotton one that we got from our baby shower! We use it almost daily.

  • Baby Wrap

    • I love baby wearing! These wraps are such a great way to hold baby while also being able to do simple tasks...like write a blog post :)

  • Owlet Sock

    • I love this product so incredibly much. It puts my mind at ease and allows me to sleep so much better knowing something is tracking his heart rate and oxygen levels at night!

  • Hatch Sound Machine

    • This is also another great product. The night light glows in different colors and has various sounds that you can program through the app on your phone!

  • Portable White Noise Sound Machine

    • We take this everywhere! The living room, car, grandparents house...you name it. It's so helpful!

  • Wipe Warmer

    • A luxurious item Kaden will thank us for later :). I mean, who wants a cold wipe on their bum? Not me!

  • Diaper Caddy

    • This is arguably the most used item yet! We keep it in our bedroom at night and take it into the living room when lounging during the day. It's stocked with all of our essentials!

  • Changing Pad

    • Another basic and must-have item...especially with a boy! They have a tendency to pee everywhere.

  • Burp Cloths

    • I am obsessed with these muslin burp cloths. They soak up all the nastiness and are such a great material.

  • PeePee TeePee

    • Did I mention boys pee everywhere? This isn't really an essential, but if you have a boy they are very helpful if you know what I mean!

  • Pacifier

    • I highly suggest getting a variety of pacifiers to test out what works best for your baby. I've lined a few of our favorites here.

  • Baby Oil, Baby Lotion, and/or Baby Balm

    • We currently use Beauty Counter, however I've listed some other brands here.

  • Diaper Rash Cream and Applicator

    • Keep that bum healthy! The applicator is another luxury item, however it does help prevent all that gunk in between your nails.

  • Nail Clippers and File

    • I cannot say enough good things about the Fridababy clippers! They are the safest option and you need them!

  • Tummy Relief (Gas Drops, Gripe Water, Daily Probiotic, Windi)

    • We've had our share of tummy issues, unfortunately. All of these are definite must in our house and we are so thankful we had them on hand before it was a major issue.
